Cost of reaching Hampi

  • By cab — one-way from Bangalore from ₹3,640, from Hyderabad from ₹4,080, from Hubli from ₹3,200 (whole car, driver allowance included). See all cab routes to Hampi.
  • By train — the cheapest option: overnight trains reach Hosapete Junction from Bangalore and Hyderabad, then a Hospet to Hampi cab for the last 13 km.
  • By bus — KSRTC and private sleeper buses run overnight to Hosapete from Bangalore, Hyderabad and Goa.

  • Travel between July and September or in March for lower hotel rates.

A 2-day Hampi trip typically costs ₹3,000–₹5,000 per person on a budget and ₹7,000–₹12,000 per person mid-range, excluding travel to Hampi. Sharing a cab and room lowers the cost.

Is Hampi expensive to visit?

No. Most monuments are free, the only ASI ticket costs ₹40 for Indians, and food and guesthouses are inexpensive. Transport and hotel choice make the biggest difference.
